FEATURED

Letter from the President

All of us have heard about the importance of having a solid succession plan in place for the purposes of business continuity.  While this is true for businesses, it is also a reality for our board.  As we enter the back part of the year, several of our board members will be finishing their terms.  To ensure there are no lapses in leadership, we are continually networking with potential successors in the Columbus area.  While we have several people on our radar at any given time, we realize that there are many other talented people in this market we cannot see.

Recently you received an email from our President-elect Denise Jedinak regarding Chapter involvement in 2011.  I encourage anyone interested in becoming actively involved with Central Ohio ASTD to reply to Denise (Pres_Elect@centralohioastd.org) by November 10th.  This is a rewarding experience that connects you to high-powered learning and development professionals in our community.  It looks pretty good on your resume too.

Thanks for your consideration!

 Meet the Board!

November Spotlight is on Diane Alexander, COASTD's VP of Community Partnerships.

Diane is President of The MindWorks Inc., a company dedicated to teaching people how to use their minds more effectively.  With graduate degrees in psychology, business, and neuroscience, Diane shares with her audiences how to use their greatest asset - the power of their brain.  Diane does regular guest appearances on TV and radio and her book Break-out Creativity is required reading for many corporations.  By translating the latest scientific research into practical and easy-to-learn techniques, Dian can enable you to  tap into your own brain power to produce solutions that equipment and money can't buy.  The MindWorks, Inc. has been acclained by the London Times as having "the best training programs of their kind in the world."
