What’s YOUR ‘Secret Sauce’ For Deploying A Successful Learning Strategy?
The Battelle University transformation story: Learn key strategic choices that made a difference in shifting the learning paradigm from training to performance in less than a year and how you can do the same!
Description: How do you deliver value in a way that makes a difference? Why are some Corporate Universities being cut while others are prospering? Everybody is racing against the clock to deliver something meaningful with limited money, staff, tools and technology. Talent development, like every other function, has constrained resources, big hairy goals and prickly customers. If people are the most important assets, then why aren’t companies investing in them like they invest in their products? Or are we missing something?
Hold it! Are there not increasing big capital investments being made in sales training, customer service, product launch support, ERP and Six Sigma training, among other initiatives? What are the common themes behind what gets funded and supported as genuine learning and development assets? How can we shape the agenda to further support ways our employer can make and save money through capability-building efforts. Yes, easier said than done…BUT, it is happening!
You will hear a story of how the world’s largest multi-billion dollar research-based government contractor, Battelle, has transformed its way of growing talent across large, diverse (commercial and government) workforces. With dizzying speed, University effort and courage, Battelle Unversity was reinvented by rebuilding the talent development team, stakeholder communities, funding sources, vision; roadmaps, delivery channels, analytics and governance.
Participate in our story by vetting and validating key actions to enhance the positioning of talent development for success, including:
- Do we have the right talent on the bus? What mix do we need to leverage a corporate university?
- How do we craft a business case that provokes action: shapes opportunity and insight, mobilizes resources, and generates commitment and involvement from the top?
- How to jump start: placing bets on the ‘vital few’. What is most visible, impactful, and foundational to our future?
- What is the best way to build, grow and optimize capability over a multi-year horizon?
- How do we deepen relationships, intelligence and support with multiple stakeholder communities?
- What is the best way to measure and manage value for impact and results?
Learning Objectives:
-
Demonstrate how to shape a value proposition for learning and development
-
Understand how to build and leverage core capability by utilizing key frameworks
-
Develop a strategy for cultivating stakeholders that champion your cause
